Managers in the Gorilla Expense application can redirect expense reports to another approving manager when they are unable to take action themselves, either due to a lack of context, workload distribution, or temporary absence. This redirection ensures that the regular approval workflow continues smoothly without unnecessary delays.
- To begin, the manager logs into the application and navigates to the Analytics section, followed by Query Employee Expense Reports.
- On the Query Employee Expense Reports screen, the manager applies the necessary filters to locate the relevant expense report, such as employee name, date range, classification, status, or confirmation number. Upon clicking Execute, the filtered list of reports is displayed below.
- Once the desired expense report is located, the manager clicks on the Expense Report Name to open the report details. On this screen, the manager will find a Redirect Expense Report link positioned in the top-right corner of the Review Status section. Clicking this link opens a pop-up with two fields: Redirect To and Review Comments.
- The manager selects the new approver from the Redirect To dropdown list and enters appropriate remarks in the Review Comments field to provide context for the redirection. These comments assist the receiving manager in understanding why the report has been forwarded.
- After both fields are completed, the manager clicks the Redirect button to initiate the reassignment. If successful, the system confirms the action with a green message stating “Successfully Redirected.”
The redirect feature in the Gorilla Expense application helps maintain smooth and efficient approval workflows. It provides both administrators and managers with role-specific options to reassign reports when needed, ensuring no delays in the process.
Out of Office Settings:
Managers in Gorilla Expense also have the ability to redirect expense approvals and temporarily transfer their approval responsibilities to another manager for a defined period. This can be set up by going to the User Profile and updating the “Out of Office Settings”. By selecting a Start Date and End Date, the system will automatically redirect any expense reports assigned during that time to the selected manager. This helps ensure that approvals continue smoothly even when the original manager is unavailable.
